Dancing With Parkinson’s

Thursday Mornings at Hull Truck Theatre happens to be one of our most favourite week day morning classes. DWP ( Dancing with Parkinson’s) is literally that, a movement class  designed and directed for people with Parkinson’s to move, dance and have fun. We work to live music inspired from countries and cultures all over the world. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend, carer or family member and the feedback collated is showing the class benefits all that attend, whether from a physical, cognitive or social perspective.

Here’s what some of the participants have to say about it;

“Fairly new to these class, I was nervous to begin with not knowing anyone that was coming, but everyone is so lovely, so kind, so nice. I thoroughly enjoy it, I’m getting my confidence back through it.” Anne, Hull.

“I’ve had Parkinson’s for about 25 years and I’ve found these sessions we’re at to be really helpful for me, it really helps with my mobility.” Wendy, Hull.

” Since she’s been coming to this, she looks forward to these sessions so much, she’s so much more relaxed, she suffers quite badly but when we get here she’s really good.” Peter, Hull.

” I come with my mum, I’ve never seen her so enthusiastic and really enjoy something that she really looks forward to coming to each week. coming to the class I’ve never seen such enthusiastic people helping out and teaching us to dance. It’s tremendous fun and helping my mum immensely.” Joanne, Hull.

Classes are held at Hull Truck Theatre, Thursday mornings from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. Class fees are £3.00 and Carers/ relatives are free.
